Fees

Cabinet ALTHÉIA is committed to providing high-quality legal services together with a transparent fee policy. We favour a trust-based relationship with our clients, founded on clear and accurate information about our rates.

Billing principles

Our fees are determined by considering several criteria in accordance with article 10 of French law no. 71-1130 of 31 December 1971 and the National Internal Regulations of the legal profession, in particular:

  • The complexity of the case
  • The time spent
  • The lawyer’s experience and specialisation
  • The client’s particular situation
  • The costs and disbursements incurred
  • The result obtained or the service rendered

Fee agreement

In accordance with regulations, a written fee agreement is drawn up before our engagement begins, specifying the method for determining fees and the estimated foreseeable cost of our work.

Transparency

We keep you regularly informed of the progress of your case and the corresponding fees. Any significant change in the estimated amount is communicated to you in advance. Toute évolution significative du montant prévisionnel fait l’objet d’une information préalable.

Detailed invoicing

Our invoices are itemised and precisely list the work performed, time spent and costs incurred, so that you can track the progress of your case

Methods of fee determination

Depending on the nature of your case, we may propose different methods for determining fees:

Time-based fees

This billing method is generally applied to cases whose duration or complexity is difficult to predict. The hourly rate varies according to the nature of the case, its complexity and the experience of the lawyer in charge.

Flat fee

For certain services whose content and duration can be defined in advance, we propose a flat fee, agreed beforehand.

Retainer

For companies requiring regular legal support, we offer retainer packages tailored to their specific needs.

Success fee

In some cases, an additional success fee may be agreed based on the outcome obtained, in addition to a base fee. The calculation method is precisely defined in the fee agreement.

Costs and disbursements

Costs and disbursements (procedural fees, travel expenses, bailiff fees, etc.) incurred in the client’s interest are billed in addition to the fees. These costs are itemised in our invoices.

Payment terms

In accordance with usual practice, a retainer payment is generally requested at the start of our engagement, followed by interim invoices as the case progresses.

We accept several means of payment: bank transfer, cheque, or cash within the legally authorised limits.

Disputing fees

In the event of disagreement over the amount of fees, you may refer the matter to the President of the Paris Bar (Bâtonnier de l’Ordre des Avocats) for assessment.

First information meeting

Cabinet ALTHÉIA offers a first information meeting of 30 minutes at a rate of €100 excl. VAT. This amount will be deducted from the fees if the firm is subsequently instructed to handle your case.

For any further information regarding our fees, please do not hesitate to contact us. We strive to tailor our offer to your needs and situation.
